Default NE Calgary Help

Hi all,

Sorry to use a hockey forum as an information gathering spot but it seems like I have no other choice. I'm doing a field placement in Calgary in the next coming weeks and am living out of a suitcase in NE Calgary. I believe I'll be in the Whitehorn area of town (near 36th Street NE and 32nd Ave NE). Just a few questions so I can try to become familiar with the area...

Safe place to walk in the morning/evening? My shifts are 12 hours long and hinge on the 7 am / 7 pm shifts. I hope it isn't too rough, I currently walk downtown Edmonton to school everyday and experience no problems, so hopefully it's somewhat safe.

Secondly, is there any sort of mall or grocery store in the area of 36th St and 32nd Ave? Anything in the Sunridge mall?

Thanks again for all the help ahead of time and hopefully you don't find this too rude to be asked on the forum.

Thanks again, and can't wait to experience Calgary (and hopefully get a job there),

Jared
