A tablet consolidates a lot of devices into one awesome little package. A dedicated e-reader is just clutter IMO.

My wife says the page turning on her Kobo Glo is instant. Never been an issue. I think the Glo has a better processor and more RAM than the second gen. Not entirely sure.
When I was researching e-readers I thought about just getting her a tablet. Her response was "if I want to do computer stuff, I'll use my computer. I just want to read." Plus the e-ink on the e-reader is easier on her eyes, then the bright screen on a tablet.
I guess that just comes back to guys being more into gadgets and total-package devices and women being more into having it simple and one function. I'm stereotyping here, just seems like that with men and women.
