Anyway, I also look at RT occasionally but i'll be damned if i'll let that stuff affect my opinion of the film beforehand.

You're mistaking it affecting my opinion of the film with it affecting my expectations. It's definitely tempered my expectations going in, but my opinion of the film itself won't change until I actually see it.
