If he decides this is his last year in College, the Flames can sign him and he can play the last few games of the season and playoffs for the Flames or the Heat. It would be the same as players coming out of junior such as Reinhart did last season. IIRC Nieuwendyk and Hull played in the Flames playoffs after leaving college one year.
