If you decide to have a destination wedding don't tell all the guests that the reason for the destination wedding is because
a) a traditional wedding was just too expensive.
b) We thought it would be a good idea this way everyone gets a vacation in Mexico.

You are saving money by having everyone else pay for it. I don't mind, but don't tell me that is the reason. And maybe that isn't how I wanted to use my vacation days this year. I am happy to come to your wedding but don't act like you are doing me a favour by getting me out of the country for a week.

Perhaps I am just bitter though because I have a brother and a brother in law getting married in Cancun a month apart this winter. The first one will be great but I am not too excited about going a second time to the same spot.
