It was definitely a somewhat disappointing finale. I'm cool with Gyp's demise, indeed in the end he was basically a man alone so the need for a wild and crazy death seemed unneccesary at that point. The final scene with Margaret was nice in that it summed up her overall role in the show: its pointless. I hope thats it for her, since I really can't see where this is going with her from here. If next season is going to involve any significant amount of time to Nucky trying to win her back, it'll be a waste.
Hopefully next season focuses solely on the gangster stuff. There's more than enough there to drive several storylines, and even though I enjoy Richard as a character, I don't find him essential to any storyline going forward. If that was it for him though, obviously can't go out much better (though I hoped he'd utilize a few bladed weapons in his massacre, just for violence sake). Overall I'd give the season a 9/10, better than season 2 but not quite up to season 1.
