Regardless to base ones future potential on past results from teams that now have different management, scouts, and coaches seems foolish. I don't think Montreal is going to be a powerhouse because Sam Pollock was a great GM in the 1970s, likewise Calgary's future has nothing to do with the tradition of winning in the 80s before many of the Flames prospects were a thought.
The other thing is especially with prospects is it really is a crapshoot and it is really easy to overestimate one's own teams prospects.
