I do agree that the gunfight sequence was weak. I couldn't figure out where they were trying to get to. I swear at one point they just reversed the action. i.e. didn't Rick just sidestep walknshoot that way, now he's going back. It was a bit of a mess, but I don't think with a TV series I can't expect a Michael Mann Heat shootout sequence, especially with time constraints on filming so much material in much less time than a movie. I think the budget has gone up this year but I doubt it is at the Game of Thrones level.
There is a bit of hammy stuff at times and I think 'having read the comics' will constantly prejudice your view one way or the other.
You need to constantly check yourself to not compare this to the comics or a show like Game of Thrones that seems to have unlimited time and budget.

I have a problem with that. TV has progressed far from the A-Team and Macguyver. With 24 and Lost and Breaking Bad we have tremendous and intense gunfights and action scenes rivaling movie levels. The zombie killings are top notched, not sure why that gun fight scene looked so lame assed.
haha. i guess you didn't read my rant on game of thrones action scene at the end of last season. That was rather Krull like... hehe
