Found the episode good, but not great. I thought there were much better episodes so far this season. Gotta agree with VanFlamesFan, the action didn't make it any better, and like Bertuzzied said, some of it was kinda lame, but I was expecting that anyway because I saw the preview last week. You knew they were going to make a run on Woodbury. So it didn't bug me either. I knew we were up for some stereotypical TV gun battles.

The Michonne/Govener fight was cool though. I thought maybe one of them was going to use a zombie head as a weapon, that would have been cool! Perhaps hard to film or make believable though... As far as the hooks go, you knew Andrea and Michonne were going to meet, and you knew Darryl and Merle were going to meet at the end. Didn't surprise me at all that was the cliffhanger. Had been expecting it to be the mid season cliffhanger since they reintroduced Merle. In front of the town or not, you knew they were setting them up to fight or have some sort of conflict.

As one poster said, the preview of the next half of the season may have ruined the outcome of that though...

Episode pretty much went how I thought it would. Not that it's a knock on the show though, they had to advance it through these points.

Again I do agree with Bert that improving some of the small details may have made the episode a lot better. Like the Governors speech, some of the fighting in the gun battle, etc. A few tweaks could have turned it from an average episode to a great one. But I've always like Tarantino dialogue to go with my Tarantino action, so to speak.

On the other hand, I'm not ready to say the show is heading downhill. I think it's just one of those shoot em up episodes they have to throw in every once in a while to keep certain segments happy.

I do think the magic of the series is in the drama and the suspense though. And cool zombie kills of course.

(Had to lol at the transformers comments though, haha! Sorry Van, you'll never live that down. You may be right about parts in this episode, but your well chronicled defense of dumb action and even dumber plot won't let you get away with it unscathed
