Toronto has the biggest fan base and is the most profitable team in the NHL~ not cause they win, cause of the support. St.Louis made the playoffs last year and was a dominant force during the year- yet, the least profitable team in the league. What does that tell you ? that's why I say Calgary will be eventually successfull, we have the fans and we want to win cause we have a tradition to do so.

Both Parise and Suter were solid aqisitions, but for the money, are not game changers and not nearly worth the money spent and eventually will handcuff their team financially down the road. If Parise goes down to injury, which he does from time to time, then what ? You forgot Patrick Sieloff as a prospect, a lock, John Gillies, Rammo, Cervenka, Breen, etc. I will fight for Calgary's chances 5 years from now~ you do what you do.
