I've found quite a few enjoyable movies, but I've also spent quite a bit of time browsing for something suitable. Really, I think it is 1000% more useful for TV shows. I'd gladly continue paying $8/month just for the TV show selection. It's awesome to have a full series (or at least full season) of TV to plough through at your own pace. Not only is it cheaper than buying one season of a TV show for 40-$60, Netflix is tons more convenient. With Netflix, in one day I can watch content on my Netflix enabled TV, Xbox on my other TV, my PC and my iPad. Incredibly convenient, and no discs to fumble around with.

I don't think I'm alone in thinking that Netflix is most useful for TV. I'd like to see them start advertising that a little bit more, maybe mentioning some of the premium TV content available. E.g.
  • The Walking Dead
  • Breaking Bad
  • Mad Men
  • Dexter
  • Sherlock (Season 2 just added)
  • Futurama
  • Community
  • Arrested Development
  • Lost
  • The Office
  • Archer

Someone at home will see "Hmm...that Breaking Bad show that I always hear about is on Netflix. I've always wanted to watch that, but didn't want to pay $10/month to add AMC on my cable bill. Are you telling me for $8/month I can watch the whole show, commercial free, at my own pace...and also get access to thousands of other movies and TV shows?"

I still find it is incredible value.
This is true, but the bad stream quality puts me off of a lot of those things. Lost in HD looks fantastic. Lost on Netflix looks not nearly so good. I almost feel as if I'm missing some kind of menu in the options the video quality for the majority of the stuff is so bad.
