I've had multiple concussions in my life 7 diagnosed and probably a bunch of other smaller ones where I was knocked loopy, my last serious one happened this summer when I went out to play flag football with some members of this site.

I know every time its easier to get them, I also know that including the last one I had crazy mood swings, I forget things constantly, I have terrible concentration, And small things set me off like a anger fueled rocket. So I don't discount concussions.

It is interesting to note that he doesn't show that he missed any time for a concussion through his career, he played in every game, so to me it will be interesting to see if he does have any damage that can be linked to concussions. (From what I understand even with the brain destroyed they can still find damage from concussions in the autopsy). If he did have them then its a pretty strong indictment against the NFL and how teams treat head injuries.

But its way to soon to conclude that he had Chris Benoit levels of brain damage from head blows, but reaching that conclusion right away has become extremely popular.

For all we know the guy could have been a jerk, or a alcohol, or depressed or under incredibly stressful conditions, or bipolar or worse.

Or he just could have been a killer.

I feel terrible for the girls family, his family and his team mates.
I don't think the thread has been that bad, just general speculation which always happens in threads like these. I think all that sets this thread apart is the fact that two posters made pretty definitive posts, whether they meant to or not, which led to a lot of negative reaction from lots of of posters.

Iginla, responded to Tinordi's speculation with this.....

Saying murder suicides happen all the time, so there's probably no issue of head injuries here, despite the fact that most players at his position have had numerous concussions, and it's extremely common to downplay them or not even get them checked because they're afraid of losing their position/profession.

Then Vektor made an equally definitive post, saying they'll probably find sedative in his blood that leads to suicidal thoughts, which led to this murder suicide, and slightly arrogantly mentioned a pshycology degree.

Then things just went downhill from there.

They will probably find some kind of sedative in his blood that's used for insomnia. The brain damage, insomnia plus the meds create a cocktail that creates suicidal ideations. But what would I know, I only have a degree in psychology.

"Gary Plummer has done the math.If a 'Grade 1' concussion means you see stars after a hit, Plummer says he's had 1,000 in his career, and his ex-teammate, Junior Seau, had 1,500.
That's one thousand, five hundred concussions."
