What's interesting about Redford's letter selecting the firm, which is not actually JSS Barristers, but is International Tobacco Recovery Lawyers, with JSS Barristers forming some sort of one-purpose partnership with them, is that they are actually based in Ontario, but have Alberta ties. Each of the two other firms which weren't selected are arguably more Alberta based (Bennett Jones and McLennan Ross).

That's what I find really odd about her letter which claims to be based on a "made in Alberta" justification. Were that the case, each of the other two firms would have been the better choice.
