To the op, I'm thinking your mechanic should have done a little bit of des nagging before changing such an expensive part. It would have been worth an hour at shop rte to have them run a diagnostic, do a good visual on the mounts and things.

I would suspect if something substantial like your flywheel was u/s, it wouldn't come and go. A solid steel disc with a flaw should be consistent in vibrations/noises. A motor mount should be similar.

Make sure you let us know the outcome.

What kind of car, I'm not familiar with the flywheel your describing.

Edit: just went on youtube, I see why that could be a problem. What a way to over complicate a simple part.
