The opportunity to get two really nice young pieces in TT and Kreider was too much too pass up. We're sad to give up Marchand, seeing as he's still young and we feel like he can and will improve, but we also believe that if Kreider reaches his full potential he can be a dominant forward. He impressed greatly in the playoffs and there is no reason to believe he won't impress even more. The only knock on him and TT is the lockout, because otherwise Kreider may have been playing in the NHL by now working towards a reasonable rating next season.
As for the 2nd deal it seems pretty even all-round but Pheonix gets the best player, and not only that but Ovi is at his all-time lowest value, if he returns to form he can be the best player in the world (again).
