I hope by "smoking deal" he meant free. I have never paid to stay at IP (and I'm not a big gambler) and I don't think anyone ever does. Really it doesn't matter where you stay, you are only in your room to sleep. It just sounds nicer when you say Bellagio, Aria Venetian etc...but if you are going with your buddy it is not worth it to pay to stay at one of those places IMo. The IP is also in a good location.
