That reads like it is taught in a Humanities course rather than a science course.

I am pretty anti-creationist, but I can see where that lesson would be a great way to teach critical thinking. It is a good way to have the students read through different materials and identify the biases and viewpoints of the authors.

I should add that if it is being taught in science class then it is disgusting, and the very reason that the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster was created. It would therefore be my belief that all three theories be taught. R'amen
