Now I'm done saying anything nice or positive about Jim Tracy. It would be the absolute worst. It would make every move the Jays have made under AA and this offseason of less value. Jim Tracy is everything I listed last night in my post you wouldn't want and more. He constructs lineups like a man who's been in a coma the last 5 years, he uses his bullpen horribly and he loves the bunt more then any other manager. Can you imagine watching game after game of Reyes getting on base and Melky bunting? That's what life will be like. Joe Maddon and Buck Showalter would eat him alive.

The Jays will be the laughing stock of MLB for this. It will stop any momentum this team had going for it and slam a brick wall in front of it. Jim Tracy is that bad.

Now before I get that doom and gloom, he has not been named manager yet. Buster Olney reported that those two were just two of the final names they discussed. And Rosenthal undercut that report by saying the Jays had not even contacted Riggleman, as per Riggleman's agent. That would show you how secretive AA has been and question the information used to even make this report.

I've been able to understand and agree with almost ever move AA has made. The trade with Houston during the season this year was pretty stupid but I got it to some extent and besides letting Omar Vizquel or Eric Thames play, he seems to be an incredibly intelligent guy. I would think much less of him and lose an incredible amount of faith in him right away if he was dumb enough to hire Jim Tracy. Also it would be an entire offseason of the Bluejays then being the laughing stock of MLB on social media.
Well said, Tracy would not fit this team (would he fit any team?) at all. And Riggleman is a quitter, I have no interest in someone like that. I read on a blog that AA has spoken with Hargrove about the job, not a big fan of his either but would be an interesting hire. I also read somewhere (forget where) that Tracy has said the Jays have not contacted him...hopefully that is true.
