I've seen some people shut off cell data and not be able to use it for calls/texting. No idea why. It seemed rather odd. I always shut off just the data roaming when out of country and its been fine.

Okay, really I just want to be able to have my phone and send text messages to my GF if we get split up without signing over either my balls or a semi-consensual rape-session to Telus. I also do not want to be getting my email. Is this a possible thing?
