Admittedly I'd never seen that, so thank you for the tip. Sadly on CP the full screen button
and the hide annotations button are missing. Minor gripe.
For anybody interested, you can turn them off by default by signing into youtube, and then going to Your Name --> Youtube Settings --> Playback. There's a checkbox for both annotations and captions.
