Icon36 [TRADE] San Jose and New York Rangers

Breaking news - Erik Karlsson, only recently having been moved to New York, is on the move again as he has been packaged with Oscar Lindberg and Chris Bourque and sent to San Jose. We have been unable, as of yet, to reach San Jose's management for comment.

On their way to New York are young up-and-comers Sergei Kostitsyn, Erik Gudbranson, and Cody Hodgson. New York sure has been stocking up on young talent lately. When asked for comment, New York GM Huyben remarked, "We're lucky to add to our young depth here in New York. We have realized that in order to become a contender, it has been necessary to give some of our more established players a chance at a cup this year and to get, in return, solid young talent that we can build around. With this acquisition, we're excited to bring in three guys who are NHL ready and only stand to improve in an environment that will see them with increased playing time."

New York has certainly blown up the locker room lately. Whether or not this is a good decision remains to be seen. I think we can all safely say that we won't see much more of the Rangers this year, but they may be a force come the 2013-14 season. If not, then I guess we'll dump Huyben in the Mike Milbury category and move on to talk with champions.
