No, any brief analysis of history will show you it is because they were fortunate enough to
a) live on a huge country overflowing with coal, iron ore, oil and all kinds of other commodaties.
b) not get the crap kicked out of them in 2 world wars as they were to far away and mostly stayed out of them.
The US essentially tripped over world leadership and, if things continue as they have been going, has done little with it and will also give it up fairly quickly.
