I guess I'm now breaking the law if I buy an ebook from Amazon, strip the DRM and convert it to EPub. However, since it's not illegal to have the software for stripping DRM and if the penalties are limited to damages (which would presumably be zero since I paid for the book) I'm not going to get too worried. I suppose they could fine me for the difference between the price at Amazon versus another seller (since the only reason I buy from Amazon is if the book is free or heavily discounted there compared to other sellers) but I can't imagine anyone bothering to chase people down for that.
