For my part, I like South Park and was disappointed when Hayes quit the show last week. I thought it kind of strange since the show in question aired last Nov, but who knows.
Then I saw this article that mentioned how, less than a week after it was announced that Chef had quit the show, it was announced that the first show of the new season would be "The return of Chef". It seemed like too much publicity to happen just before a new season begins.
Where did you see that they were using "creative use of his previous voice clips and audio editing"? I just haven't seen that (but it wouldn't surprise me). When I saw that, I remembered that if Hayes had a stroke, perhaps he would sound different and that would explain the

You're probably right, and they are just using previous clips. Since the show is computer generated and Matt & Trey do most of the voices they can complete a show in 3 days in response to topical events. But I still find it strange that Hayes quit when, according to most of his (pre-stroke) recent interviews he really liked being 'Chef'.
