Some of you who were following the US Political election may have seen this video.
In the video, Rep. Paul Broun of Georgia, who was running unopposed, told supporters that he finally realized that all that science stuff he was taught - namely, evolution and the big bang theory - was "lies, lies from the pit of hell". He also said:

As disturbing as this is, it gets worse, because this guy is on the
House Science Committee - right alongside the guy who made the comments about "legitimate rape", which makes one wonder if this committee is more interested in new and more reliable witch-detection methods than actual science, but I digress.
Anyway, lost in the many stories of the US election last week was this one. Paul Broun was running unopposed, so he was going to win re-election no matter what. However, in his district, voters went to the polls and in spite of there being no challenger, voted for a write-in candidate: Charles Darwin. So far, there are 4000 such votes from one county alone. They're still counting.
