Yeah, what's the deal with this? At my current residence my carrier doesn't even attempt to deliver packages to me. Even with my buzzer number indicated on the package she doesn't bother to try and call me to come down.

It's pretty baffling if you ask me, as this didn't happen at my old place. And now that my old Canada Post location closed down I am forced to drive 10-15 minutes to pick up my packages.

I actually called it and complained about it, but the moron phone rep said that this is normal procedure, and the carrier is not expected to deliver packages to me

I have no problem with them taking packages to the post office when I am not home (obviously), but to not even attempt delivery is absolutely piss poor service.

Then to top it off it generally takes 2-3 days for them to write up delivery notice cards. So packages usually arrive a couple days before I actually find out they are already waiting for me.

Canada Post is a horribly run company, even compare there rates to USPS, and the differences in rates and services is astounding. How can it cost $14 to track any package east of the prairies?

The quicker a private company can either buy them out, or start up a true competitive service the better.
