Not sure what you've tried, but this is how I would attempt this:
- Turn off wifi on telus router
- Keep DHCP enabled on telus router
- Set DHCP range to be a block of, say, 50 ip addresses. For instance, if
the telus lan ip address is 192.168.0.1, set dhcp to start at 192.168.0.50 and end at 192.168.0.100
- Turn on wifi on your linksys, setup SSID/security as you want.
- Turn off DHCP on your linksys
- If you have the option to turn off NAT on your linksys, do so. Also, it might help to disable any firewalls that might be on your linksys (if the Telus router has a firewall).
- Set IP address on your linksys to be in the same subnet as the telus router, but outside the dhcp range. For instance, if telus router is setup as in step 3, set the ip address of the linksys to something like 192.168.0.5 (outside the 50-100 range).
- Hook up cable from one of the telus router's ports to a LAN (not WAN) port on the linksys.
That should do it. I haven't done this as I'm on Shaw for internet, but I have a similar setup with Shaw. Good luck!
