I have to agree. As noble as it is to want to stop a shoplifter, it is always possible that you can get injured and even die. It isn't worth it. Same thing with stopping someone stealing a purse and running away - unless you're in a group and you're all strong enough to take the guy down, don't chase,
call the police (mall security in her case).
