Depends on what the original quality was. I did the same thing (ripped my entire collection to WMA 192) now I wish I had gone wav or lossless and converted from there. If you are ripping to mp3 just for ipod use then the quality should not be too bad because you are listening on headphones. I wanted to use mine for my home stereo and non-ipod player so went high bitrate and wma provided the best sound with smallest file. I would have had to go 320bit mp3 to get the same quality.
