I think that Rockstar INXS was very popular because it played to the mainstream and did it with fun and pizzaz, and it also showcased some talent that may not have received a break otherwise, and that in itself is great! Good on Canadian born JD Fortune for getting his 15 minutes of fame! Something each and every person wishes to attain!...this something is missing from the entire Hip Hop scene. It plays to a specific crowd, and because of those specifics it will always be contained within walls. IF people didnt like the format they wouldnt support the show.
How can you blame watered down generic rock on rap?? What does that have to do with anything? There's a lot of good rap out there, you just dont see it on Muchmusic. Just like there's a lot of good rock out there...not what you'll be seeing on Rockstar. I don't want to turn this into the Nickelback/Juno thread again. You say Rockstar just gives the people what they want...fine, but so does muchmusic when it plays 50 cent all the time...so why you would simply blame one genre of music is beyond me.
