I don't have a dish but this is what I think should happen:

1. Run Composite (Red-White-Yellow) from Bell Receiver "OUT" to VCR "IN"
2. Run another set of Composite from VCR "OUT" to TV "IN"
3. Turn on everything, set TV to VCR's input channel
4. Using the VCR's remote, select the channel you want to record
5. Use VCR's remote to program your Timed Recordings or just push record if you are recording now.

That should do it. Recorded program won't show up as HD obviously, but you'll at least see the show.
