You must have the 6100 then; same model as me.
The standard yellow, white and red outputs from your receiver automatically downconvert for you, so it should just be a matter of running those respective colours into the matched inputs on your VCR. (Yellow to yellow, red to red, white to white.)
On your VCR you will need to select the input mode. Some models it's shown as a channel below 2, others there's a button labelled something like "input mode." Most VCR's have an input on the back called Input 1, and if there's also one on the front it will be called "input 2."
