A good friend of mine teaches sex-ed in a Catholic junior high. Perhaps it's different from teacher to teacher or school to school, but I disagreed strongly with how she was told to run the class (for the record, so did she). When it came time for the question box, some questions (such as "what's the proper way to put on a condom?") were given a canned response of "according to the Catholic church, the only way to fully protect from unwanted pregnancy or disease is abstinence".
No parent should be relying on the school system to fully educate their kids about sexuality, but that is something I'd keep in the back of my mind.
