Agreed. Kevin Smith has no grip on reality when it comes to Star Wars. I don't think the series needs any uber fans getting their hands on it.
I'd actually like to see a director who isn't quite as fanatical about Star Wars be given a chance. Maybe to really breathe new life into it you need someone involved who has less vested interest in what Star Wars already is.
