I used to go there when it was Sociale (right when it opened, so early 2011). It was actually tons of fun, I went quite a bit - fun, 20-30 something downtown type crowd there. Nice design inside, too. I met quite a few cool people there, and the owner loved us for some reason (always gave us free drinks and never made us wait in line).
Then the ######bags and gangsters moved in, and COMPLETELY ruined the place. Sociale (now Black Betty) is an example of a trend that has happened to some establishments with potential in Calgary - the normal crowd goes because its new, and then the scum of Calgary feels the need to take it over.
