it's not a trilogy but he has said that he would love to do a Bond movie at some point, so he is still interested in putting his own ideas in to known entities after doing Batman

I hope they choose someone that commits to all 3 at least, they are obviously planning movies after the fact with how much money they spent on the product, but 7-9 need to be their own entity and should feel like a continuation of each other

which you only get in a situation where one director stays on for the whole trilogy
