if they go from the stories that Lucas had already written for episodes 7, 8, and 9, then you could have the original cast back (if they would ever agree to it). if i remember right he had the new trilogy taking place several decades after ROTJ, focusing on Leia as Chancellor of the New Republic, Luke heading up the new Jedi academy (with Leia and Han's kids as students). he had pretty strict rules for any author wanting to write about anything post-ROTJ for this reason (but anything not related to his original universe he didn't really care about, like KOTOR). all of the official Star Wars books are considered canon, so this new trilogy is almost definitely going to be based on something
