For any current or former Vancouverites - was awareness of the risk of a big earthquake or tsunami something that you thought about often? Did you keep a disaster preparedness kit in your home? Is it something people talk about at all?

When I was a kid, serious earthquakes only happened in California, Alaska, etc. Small earthquakes in the Vancouver area were more a curiosity and something to talk about but I never considered to be in danger. Science has made us re-look at the situation and realize we are susceptible.
