Was thinking of doing the Vancouver to Seattle trip (which I still might do someday just for the experience); however, I noticed that Amtrak runs through Shelby, MT (about 4 hours south of Calgary; 1:30 north of Great Falls); heading east it goes to Seattle, going west it goes to Chicago (and beyond).
