Fotze, I don't know you, your symptoms or your family history but I am going to assume you are still relatively young (<50 year) without any major risks. Having said that, I can tell you right now that you do not have cancer.

The majority of all GP visits are essentially patients seeking reassurance in some form that they are not going to DIE, and this is natural. Common things being very common, my guess is that you have indigestion/acid reflux/GERD and you will be put on a trial of ranitidine or losec or something similar. Even if its an ulcer, that's fine as its treated the same with the addition of antibiotics. All the wierd and wonderful that you read about on the internet is far from representative of the actual population based frequency, let alone of groups without specific risk factors. Secondly, you have to question the validity of what is on the internet...it is a totally unregulated body of information that any nut-case can add to, so what you read may very well be fiction or out of context. Be brave my friend, and do not fear the lone finger!

To those of you in Calgary looking for GP's that are accepting patients, here is a link:

If you want to go to another GP who is "not accepting", but you are related to one of their patients, military, fireman, health care worker or police, you might want to mention it as some docs make special accepting concessions for these groups.
