Actually this is the worst part for police, if true

At the police station, Jones said police urged her to keep quiet about her police criticism and she said they appeared more concerned with their public image.
“I’m very disgruntled beyond comprehension with their behaviour. Not just in the fact they did nothing to help her in those three weeks but even the way we were treated in the station last night. They were more concerned with whether I was going to go to the media than anything else,” said Jones. When police visited her in recent weeks, she said police told her they did not have sufficient evidence to lay charges.
“That was always their excuse but the guy physically broke in, busted up furniture and chased my daughter through the house. Rather than arrest him for that, they told him he had to leave,” said Jones.
When asked about the mother’s allegations regarding how their concerns were handled by officers, a police spokeswoman said that is a part of the homicide investigation. Police are reviewing their previous dealings with the family to see if there is anything they can learn from the case.
