So what's the deal with hitting up Costco dark and early to get a number?
I know they start handing out numbers at 6am... so would I be safe to go there at 5:30, or will there be people camping out since 3am?
Costco is only a 6 minute drive for me, but I want to make sure I get a good starting number so I can get in close to when they open at 8am.
Who's done this before in prime winter tire season? Any advice?
Thanks.
UPDATE:
Got to Costco at 5:45am this morning. Scored me a piece of paper with #4 on it. They said they open the foyer at 6am, but they were letting people in around 5:30am by the looks of it. At 6am someone comes out and gives out numbers in the order that people are lined up around the shopping carts.
Went home, had breakfast and went back at 8am. Got out of there by 10am. Should have been sooner as they said they can do 4 vehicles per hour, but they were definitely slower than that and they left bay 4 empty for a while before they brought my truck in and started work on it.
One girl was there early enough to get #1. She was just having wheels swapped... she was out of there by 8:30.
If I didn't live close enough to have the option of going home between getting the number and going back at 8, it would make for a long ass ordeal and supreme PITA. By the time the Tire Center Opened at 8am, they had given out enough numbers to book them up for the entire day. Lots of pissed off stragglers, who came in at 8am without a number, getting turned away.
