I think it would be far closer to 50/50 personally. Especially without very VERY strict caveats.
The reason I wanted to comment about American gun culture is the article states he probably won't be charged as he wasn't drunk. WTF?! Is there no responsibility in the States with your weapon?
Shoot, you can be charged for killing someone with your car, even if it is an honest mistake, (which is why they have rules about it, you don't GET to make a mistake) but don't touch our guns!
Crazy ass Americans. Can we just call a spade a spade? Charge this man and have some semblance of sanity.
