The Flames now have only 4 players on their team that are over the age of 31 (Iginla, Kiprusoff, Sarich and Tanguay) and 2 players aged 30 (Cammalleri and Jackman). They have 19 players aged 19-29.

Compare this to the start of the 2011 season, when they had 14 (WTF) players over the age of 32 and I'd say this argument is no longer valid.
not disagreeing with you, however, when you consider the fact that 3 of our true offensive threats (iggy, tanguay, cammalleri), and arguably best player are on the older fronlt it's hard not to state that influx of young talent is an issue here. yes our defense is young, but the defense has proven not to be very good (same can be said of the backup goalie).

I know we're all excited about Bartschi, but i think most teams in the league of a high end prospect for 1 or more position (forward, defence, goaltending). Flames are definitely better than they have been post lockout, and appear to be improving every draft (welcomed change) but i think it's also somewhat fair to say that they're playing catch up to most of the league.
