I had 5 taken out in August and it was a pretty positive experience. I'm gonna have to agree with Jordon about the zoodles though. I lived off them for about a week. I had zero swelling, no pain, minor soreness and minimal bleeding, but I didn't eat anything of any substance for at least two weeks I think. Even then I was careful.

I didn't need to get them out but my parents made me cause once I turned 19 they would have had to have paid for the procedure. Better to get them out young anyway. My dad got them out when he was 40 or 45 and he was in the hospital for a couple days on morphine the pain was so bad.
