For arguments sake, lets say the government does give each first nations/native/aboriginal/indian man, woman, and child 1/2 a million dollars.

How long do you think that would actually last? Why the swindlers and con men would be descending onto the reserves in droves and I suspect the alcoholism and drug addition rate would sky rocket.

I don't want to sound racist (I know, I know... thats exactly what I'm sounding like) but most indians living on a reserve wouldn't be able to handle 1/2 a million dollars in their bank account.... god that sounds awful... even to me... but I believe it does ring true.

.... and after the money was gone they would be worse off than they are now.
