Sometimes, things need to change for all involved.
Most of us agree that Bryn isn't excelling in his current role, but at the same time, this lack luster performance can't be a good situation for Bryn or his career either.
Whether it's the environment, his co-workers, the mentoring role, personal lack of motivation, etc... Something isn't working for him and the longer he stays in this situation, the worse it makes his future prospects beyond the fan960 and minimizes what might have been a good career to this point.
At some point, someone will have to make the tough decision. Whether that is Bryn or his bosses, it will come to a head at some point. It always does.
I've found myself in a similar position. Being honest with myself and deciding to make a change before I went down a road where I would be told to make a change was the best thing I ever did.
