Also Gronk put up his numbers last year, what has he done lately? After 6 games 356 yards and 3 TD's for an average of 59 yards a game and a TD every 2 games. Hernandez has 89 yards and 2 TD's in 2 games, good for 44 yards a game and a TD a game.

Last year the trade would have been different, but Gronk isn't head and shoulders above every TE like he was last year.
Are you guys forgetting that Newton already has had his bye week game? In your league Eli has averaged 17.48 points to Newton's 17.41. In that setup I'd take Newton over Eli in a heartbeat dues to his upside potential. I don't know what the poster's scoring is but it's going to be close.

Sure Gronk hasn't put up last years numbers but maybe he's just been underperforming. Case in point, Jordy Nelson had been completely written off as a one hit wonder and then explodes for 3 td's last year. Who's to say that Gronkowski won't pick it up. Hernandez has been playing through an ankle injury and isn't quite 100%.

This year Eli/Hernandez haven't been better or have at least been equal to Newton/Gronkowski but the latter has the better shot of improving over the course of the season.
