So two sports nobody outside of that region plays (I realize this can apply to hockey) and individual sports and all of a sudden we're holding these countries up as great sporting nations? That's absurd.
Was Canada a great sporting nation when we went through the period of having a number of world class sprinters? Does the fact that we are elite in sliding sports not qualify? What about skiing? No? Speed skating? Doesn't count?
The point is that you're digging to find things in other countries and ignoring what Canada excels at. It's such an oddly Canadian thing to do, find a way to trash your own countries sporting prowess.
