Well no doubt this deal will make many happy, doesn't really impact my team so I really don't care. Believe it or not, no waiver draft is actually going to benefit the CPHL's #####tiest team the Devils as I no longer have to worry about my 23 year old guys in the minors and losing them. Gives me some negotiating leverage on those players.
One rule I think we should look at is to expand ECHL rosters from 15 to 20 players. No limits was bad as teams could hoard all the prospects, but 15 is too restrictive to a rebuilding team. It's your allotted number of picks so if you do collect a few extra picks you can run out of spots for players. If the limit is a bit higher it allows me to take a few late round swings in hopes I can land a late round gem. I mean theres no shortage of GM's offering me 13-5th round picks for one player. Lets face it half of this league has a f|_|ck the draft attitude anyway, so I should be allowed to take some of their extra picks and use them if I want. In my opinion 5 extra ECHL spots would help me out greatly, but would have little or no effect on the rest of the league like a small protected list waiver draft, or lower cap.
